Using My Proxy

So, you want to bid?  You've come to the right place.  This section talks about the process of buying from Yahoo or any other site in Japan.  I try to make things as simple as possible.

Step 1: Contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  It's good to send me a link to the item you want to buy and I can walk you through the process.  If you need some help finding items I can do that as well.  Usually I'll ask if you've read over the Fees page since most people want to know how much everything will cost.

Step 2: You'll have to send a deposit via PayPal.  The deposit should be in the amount of your bid.  If you want to bid 5,000 yen, then send 5,000 yen.  If you want to bid 25,000 yen, then send 25,000 yen.  PayPal will do the conversion for you to yen.  If you want to bid on multiple items then you should send the total amount of your bids.  My PayPal address is the same as my email address:  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  If you do not win the auction I can do an instant refund via PayPal.

Step 3: If you win I'll contact the Seller, make payment, and receive the item.  I track everything with an Excel spreadsheet that I'll send to you.  It will show the items you've bought and all of the costs.  Once the item arrives at my shop I'll give you the international shipping options.

Step 4: You'll make a second and final payment for the international shipping as well as the other fees/costs that have not been paid up to that point.  After I receive the payment I'll ship the item to you.

Some Frequently Asked Questions....

Can you buy from other sites, or just Yahoo?
I can buy from just about any website in Japan.  If I can create an account and login then I can buy.  The process and the fees are the same for all sites.

Can I bid myself?
Not yet.  My old site had auto-bid, and my next site will as well.  But until it's finished I have to bid manually for you.

When do you place the bid?
Usually on the day the auction ends.  If your bid isn't high enough then we need time to contact each other so you can decide if you want to raise your bid or pass.  It's best to decide your maximum bid amount and stick to it from beginning to end.  Yahoo isn't a race.  Anything you want to buy will probably appear again in the future, so don't get carried away and you'll get everything you want.

Can you snipe?
Sniping isn't really workable on Yahoo.  If there is a bid in the last 5 minutes of the auction then Yahoo will add another 5 minutes to the timer.  So bidding with 1 second left will reset the timer to 5:01.  I've seen auctions get extended for hours while people keep bidding with a minute left.

What can't you buy?
Larger items, usually related to car parts, cannot be shipped.  There are things like engines, doors, hoods, or items over 2.00 meters in length or over 30 KG.  No adult/graphic items and no firearms/airguns.

Can I send my PayPal payment as a gift to save on fees?
No. Please do not do this.  PayPal will eventually suspend the payment and start asking questions.

Video: Placing Bids

This video gives you a walkthrough on using my website to make bids on Yahoo.  It's a very simple and easy to use system where you just enter in the item link, your bid amount, and password.  After you make a deposit I'll create a login and password for you and I'll give you the link to the bidding page.  After watching the videos you should be able to handle it pretty easily on your own.  You'll be able to make bids in real time on Yahoo Auctions at your own discretion without any assistance.  It's designed to be as simple and efficient as possible.

Shipping in Japan

As a Buyer you'll want to know the shipping cost from the Seller to me so you can estimate your total cost.  Yahoo doesn't require that Sellers put shipping costs into their listings or sometimes it's described in a way that's difficult to understand.  I can help you with that.  Over time you'll be able to learn more about shipping and estimate things better.  The good news is that most Sellers don't pad shipping prices.  In fact, most of the time you'll just pay actual shipping prices and nothing for handling or materials.

International Shipping

This page talks about shipping items from my shop to your home country.  If you want to learn about domestic shipping within Japan, please see the Shipping in Japan section.  It's important to understand international shipping because it's a cost you'll have to pay and it might affect what you can or cannot buy because of size and weight limitations.  For most people the limitations won't be a problem, but if you plan on buying multiple items that you want combined into one shipping box it can be problematic for larger orders.

Payments

Yahoo Payments

I can handle all of the payment options for Yahoo Auctions, so it should never stop you from buying anything.  You can mostly ignore the information you see in the listing that talks about payment.  About 95% of all auctions work on the bank transfer system which I'm set up to handle.  The other 5% is usually a COD (payment on delivery) which I can also do easily.
